Esther Olene Cowart, age 89, of Glenwood, died Sunday, December 12, 2010.
She was born on October 13, 1921, in Pike County, the daughter of Clay Logan and Lona Turner Logan. On October 1, 1941, she was married to Hurcil L. Cowart, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Tal Forga, on May 19, 1996; three brothers, James Logan, Hansel Logan and Elry Logan; and one sister, Vickie Self.
She was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served for several years as Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher. She was an avid gardener and a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by four children, Brenda Vaught of Glenwood, Phil Cowart of Bentonville, Debbie Ward of Fort Smith and Butch Cowart of Glenwood; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Leona Robinson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Harold Turner and Bro. Keith Shewbart officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
allbearers will be Brian Cowart, Dan Forga, Tracy Forga, Michael Cowart, Mark Cowart and Paul Ketchum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Mack, Buster Wright, Brad Rudolph and Glen Logan.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 495, Glenwood, Arkansas, 71943.
