Doris Laverne "Mema" Olivier, of El Dorado, passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Bangs, Texas, to parents Otis and Thelma Barnes. She graduated from Bangs High School and attended business school in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony Joseph "A.J."Olivier, Jr.; and her grandson, Anthony Joseph Olivier.

In 1960, at the start of Southern Perforators, Inc. which was spearheaded by her husband, A.J., Doris played an active role as bookkeeper. Following the death of her husband in 1972, Doris expanded her job duties to sustain the company and successfully performed as a strong businesswoman until her retirement in 2004. Her continued dedication and commitment molded a stable, productive foundation that is still honored today by her two sons. Their devotion has caused the company to prevail during their leadership.

She was a free-spirited soul who prided in reaching out to others; no stranger was unwelcomed in her presence. Her friendly, outgoing disposition made her an excellent candidate for volunteer work as she was always willing to provide assistance for a good cause. She was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority prior to the onset of her illness as well as volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital. She expressed her crafty nature through painting as well as her other artistic abilities. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was part of multiple bridge clubs.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Charles Chapman officiating and burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral
