When Gordie Lee BETHEA Elliott was born on July 20, 1911, in Woodberry, Arkansas, her father, Samuel, was 26, and her mother, Armanda, was 23. She married Rufus Edward Elliott on November 29, 1928, in Calhoun, Arkansas. They had three children in 10 years. She died on December 13, 1988, at the age of 77, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
