Helen Louise Reed, 88, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Lake Village Rehab and Care Center in Lake Village, Arkansas. She was born on January 23, 1926 in Eudora, AR to the late Floyd and Lottie Brewer Ashley. Helen was the School Dietician for Eudora Public Schools for 33 years. and was a good cook. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook. Helen was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Eudora, AR.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Reed, Sr.
Survivors include her sons, Jack Reed and wife Leah of Eudora, AR, Bob Reed and wife Linda of Jonesboro, AR, and Bill Reed and wife Sue of Conway, AR; daughters, Helen Louise Purvis and husband Eddie of Kilbourne, LA and Betty Murphy and husband Danny of Carrollton, MS; brother, Freddie Ashley of Eudora, AR; sister, Dorothy Fletcher of Houston, TX; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held 11am–Noon on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora, AR. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora, AR with Rev. Fred Gay and Rev. James Kitchens officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, AR. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy. 8 West, Eudora, AR 71640 or Lake Village Rehab and Care Center, 903 Borgognoni Drive, Lake Village, AR 71653.
