Mrs. Ruth Marie Evans, age 78 of Columbus, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at her home. She was born February 1, 1938 in Columbus, Arkansas, to George W. and Mary Emma Stewart Clendenin.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in the Crossroads Community. She had a very giving heart to all that knew her. Her favorite hobbies included cooking and canning for others, especially friends and her church.
Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Clendenin, her husband, Leo Edwin Evans Jr., and one great-grandson, Leo Aaron Evans.
Survivors include; one son, Leo “Eddie” Evans III of Columbus, Arkansas, two daughters; Mary Ann Oglesby-Sutherly and her husband, Dwight, of Nashville, Tennessee, Doris Adams and her husband, Kenneth, of Columbus, Arkansas, one brother, Thomas Stewart Clendenin and his wife, Rebekah, of Columbus, Arkansas, four grandchildren; Matt Hervey, Rickey Evans, Kara Burton, Ashley Adams, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Ruth Marie Evans to Veranda Ministries, 650-7A Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066.
