Charles W. Launius, age 66, of Leola passed away March 13, 2008 at his home. He was born in Ouachita County May 26, 1941 the son of Charles Andrew and Lessie Mae (Nix) Launius. He was a self-employed welder, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of Poyen Missionary Baptist Church. Charles was an amateur photographer and loved farming and raising horses. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lara Cotton; and sister, Christine Koehler.
Survivors his loving wife of 44 years, Lorene Launius; son, Charles G. Launius and wife, Angie of Brush Creek: daughters, Rhonda Deaton and husband, Alan of Dalark, and Crystal Hooper and husband, Doug of Brush Creek; brother, James W. Launius and wife, Vera of Grapevine; grandchildren, Casey Cotton, Faith Crouse, and P.J. Crutchfield; great-grandson, Andy Hooper; and special aunt, Beatrice Quarles.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 16th at 2:00 p.m. in the Regency Chapel with Brothers Brian Crawford, Johnnie Brewster, Ronnie Hardin, and Tommy Gifford officiating. Interment will follow at the new Holly Springs Cemetery near Holly Springs.
