Emogene Glendene Perkey Fudge, age 88 of Searcy, resident of Indian Rock Village, Fairfield Bay, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. It was a journey traveled with faith in God and love for others.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Maurice Fudge, her parents William M. (Boss) and Ruby Perkey, and brother Charles W. Perkey.

She was born October 31, 1925 in Cave City, AR. Following graduation from Cave City High School in 1942, she worked in the cotton fields to save money to move to Little Rock to fulfill her dream of becoming a beautician. She attended the Fern Eaton Beauty College and completed the course of Beauty Culture on April 2, 1945 and was employed with the Gus Blass Company in Little Rock. Emogene married her high school sweetheart after his return from serving in World World II on April 12, 1946.

Emogene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and "Aunt Gene". She will be deeply missed by all. She treasured her family, and the times they were all together. She was a talented seamstress, homemaker, and an amazing cook. She was a caring, compassionate and loving friend to many. Those who knew her were touched in a special way by her kindness and her servant's heart. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Searcy serving as an active leader and member of United Methodist Women. She was a long time member of the Murray Sunday School Class, and the Tuesday Night Supper Club sharing great friendships.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Carole Evans, Cathy Robertson (Jim), Grandchildren, Rhonda Evans, Robert Evans, Jayme McDonald (Kevin), Ashley Robertson, great grandson Dylan Evans, sister Marie Turner, sister-in-law Wanda Perkey and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Keith Coward for his excellent and compassionate medical care, along with the staff of Ozark Health Medical Center. Also, a special "Thank You" to the staff of Indian Rock Village.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Searcy First United Methodist Church and a celebration of Emogene's life will follow. Interment will be at White County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 304 North Main, Searcy, AR 72143.

Robert Maurice Fudge, age 87 of Searcy died Thursday, September 8, 2011.

Robert was loved and cared for by his family and will be deeply missed. He embraced life and exemplified the "Greatest Generation".

Robert was born in Zion, Izard County, Arkansas 0n July 28, 1924 to Clara Jennings and James Ray Fudge. He was the second of seven children. He graduated from Cave City High School and joined the U.S. Navy Seabees as a Machinist Mate Third Class during World War II. After returning from the war he married his high school sweetheart, Emogene Perkey on April 12, 1946. They had the privilege of 65 years of marriage.

Following graduation from Arkansas Polytechnic College in Russelville, he taught on the job farm training in Desha, Arkansas. In 1951, he moved to North Little Rock and began working in the livestock business. In 1960, he moved to Searcy where he lived until October, 2009. Robert obtained the S&S Cadillac Hearse franchise and founded Fudge's S&S Sales serving the states of Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana for many years..

Robert was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Mary Francis Wann, brothers Kenneth Armistice Fudge, Thomas Guindell Fudge and Bobbie Ray Fudge.

He is survived by by his wife Emogene, daughters Carole Evans (Joe), Cathy Robertson (Jim), Grandchildren, Rhonda Evans, Robert Evans, Jayme McDonald (Kevin), Ashley Robertson, great grandson, Dylan Evans, sisters Clara Nell Stone (Delbert) , Virginia Leigh Jones and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Searcy and the Murray Sunday School Class with whom he and Emogene shared great friendships.

The family wants to thank Dr. Keith Coward of Clinton, the staff of Indian Rock Village in Fairfield Bay, and the Van Buren Home Health who nurtured him in his time of need.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Searcy.
