ROGERS — Leonard Daniel Namyst, 83, of Rogers died June 9, 2005, at his home. He was born April 1, 1922, in Chicago to William and Julia Budiak Naymst. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, stationed in the South Pacific and the Aleutian Islands. He volunteered with the Boys Club and the University of Arkansas swim team as a timer. He was a sponsor of Women's Softball.

Survivors include his stepson, Cecil Steed of Charleston, S.C.; one brother, Eugene Namyst of Chicago; four sisters, Joannie Hospitali of Chicago, Trudie Budzban and Val Kostal, both of Tampa, Fla., Laurie Wigger of Plant City, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at West Fork Cemetery. Military honors will be by Bella Vista VFW Post 9063.

Cremation and arrangements are by Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Doris K. Namyst, 57, of West Fork died Tuesday in a Fayetteville hospital. Born May 10, 1924 in Humboldt, Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barrett, she was a Baptist and a homemaker. She moved here from Farrington Hills, Ill. in December, 1981.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Namyst of the home; a son, Cecil Steed of Fayetteville; a daughter, Mrs. Anita Berns of Chicago, Ill., a brother, William Barrett of Chicago and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Nelson's Funeral Home.
