Rilous Fern McCullough was born on August 8, 1917, the daughter of the late Camp C. and Maggie Reed Cowling, and passed away on November 11, 2010 at the age of 93. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Springs, but had been living in Dallas, Texas with her daughters for the past year and a half.
She was the seventh of eleven children.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Reed and Lonnie McCullough; brothers, Earl August, Eurth Reed, Lester Luck, Jewel Lee, Saul Camp, Harold Thomas, Kelsey Eugene. Billy Joe and by sisters, Wilma Camp Humphrey and Margaret Ellen Farmer.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Donna Thomson of Dallas, Texas and Mary Beth Carpenter of Richardson, Texas.
In addition, Rilous is survived by three grandsons: Derek Thomson of Ft Worth, Texas; Dustin Thomson of Dallas, Texas and Brian Carpenter of Richardson, Texas; and by one great-granddaughter, Emory Jane Thomson.
Rilous also loved her step-children: Jo Simpkins, Ann Jackson, Judy Tabler, Eugene McCullough and Patti Britt of Mineral Springs, and Sherry Higginbotham of Pine Bluff and a number of children and grandchildren.
Rilous was retired from the Mineral Springs School District and a long-time member of the Central Baptist Church of Mineral Springs.
Visitation will be 5- 8:00 P.M., Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial in the Mineral Springs Cemetery.
