John and Delia were married in 1898. John Henry was the son of Thomas Gentry and Edith Catherine (Reid) Witt. Delia was the daughter of Joseph Lemuel and Mary Caldonia (Tarpley) Parsons. They were the parents of Effie Madera Witt, Edna Wood, Annie Belle Johnson, Edgar Doan Witt, Infant son Witt, Thomas Franklin Witt, and John Herbert Witt.
