*History: This cemetery is located on a small island between Bayou Bartholomew and Four Mile Creek south of Hwy. 4 near the Desha County line and has been used for a cemetery since Civil War days. The land belonged to the Duke Estate and they had permission to use it. Later in 1944, Katherine Duke Hyatt deeded the land to the Trustees of the cemetery.
