Nathan Paul Brooker was born on Aug. 30, 1988, in Alamosa, Colo., to Timothy Douglas and Paulita Sharlene (Harp) Brooker. He died on Sunday, Feb. 7, in Tulsa, at the age of 27. He grew up and graduated high school in Siloam Springs. He was a member of the class of 2006. He furthered his studies at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. His true passion in life was basketball, he lived and breathed the sport. He coached basketball at Carmel Christian and Queens Grant High School, both located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nathan was also a staff member of YesICan Basketball as well as Pro Skills Basketball in Charlotte. He was currently in the process of moving to Houston, Texas to be a counselor for Resolve It, Inc., where he would be working with victims of violence through sports. He was passionate about all sports and even followed NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing when he had the opportunity, and loved to travel. Nathan had been a part of the Watershed Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was currently engaged to Heather Odle. Nathan will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Paulita Brooker of Bridge City, Texas; fiancee': Heather Odle of Tulsa; one brother: Brandon Brooker and wife Laneice of Fairfax, Virginia; a niece on the way; grandparents: Dr. Richard Brooker of Ft. Scott, Kan., Sharlene and Leo Anderson of Rose, and Paul Harp of Kansas, Okla.; aunts and uncles: Mark and Sherri Brooker of Siloam Springs, Ark., Amy Brooker of Siloam Springs, Ark., Sandy and Brian McKinzie of Gravette, Stacy Harp of Rose, and Jeremy and Kathy Harp of Siloam Springs; numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request that Memorial donations be made in Nathan's name to a Victims of Violence Program called the Resolve It, Inc., 2951 Marina Bay Dr., Ste. 130.265, League City, Texas, 77573, or online donations can be made at www.resolveit.org. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 12, 2016, at Jubilee Ministries in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Dr. John Swails will officiate with assistance from Dr. Jim Burkett. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
