Dr. Kathleen Mallory, PhD, 80, of Magnolia, died Monday, July 21, 2014, in Dallas, TX, following a brief illness. Dr. Mallory was a distinguished Professor of English at SAU until her retirement in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Elves Mallory, her parents, Walker L. and Wilena Staten Brown and one daughter, Thomasa Jordan Brunson. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Jordan (Jeffery) Story of Desoto, TX, two grandsons, Milton Edward Brunson II and Brian Patrick Brunson, two great-granddaughters, Fallon Brunson and Aubrey Sloan; son-in-law, Dr. Milton Brunson; special aunt Mildred Lewis, first cousins Lisa Strong, Lillian McCornell, Gloria (Michael) Meyers, Willard (Sharolyn) Lewis, Dr. Nathan (Robbin) Lewis, Suzzane (John) Wouldridge, Myra (Harry) Jeffery, Camille (Charles) Reynolds, and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Funeral will be 10:00 am Saturday July 26 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 900 S. Washington, Magnolia, AR, 71753. Visitation will be from noon-4 p.m. on Friday at Henderson's Mortuary, 614 Calhoun Rd., Magnolia followed by family hour at the church from 5-6 p.m. Dr. Mallory will be interred in Camden Memorial Gardens, Camden, AR, under the direction of Henderson's Funeral Service
