December 30, 1942 - July 12, 2010
Esther Heard Nettles was born December 30, 1942 in McNeil, AR. She was the daughter of the late Jodie Heard and Sapphira Watson Brown. She departed this life on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Ouachita County Medical Center. She was a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church in Camden where she was a member of the Mass Choir and the Missionaires.
She was employed at Lockheed Martin for 22 years in Facilites. She has also worked at Pace and Masterson during her career. Esther took pride in her work where ever she was employed. She loved cooking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two children, Alvira Anita Heard and Elijah Jerome Heard; four sisters, Faye Heard, Margaret Ann Heard, Erma Jean Cornelious and Bernice Heard; and one brother, John Heard.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Nettles; one daughter, Peggy (Joe) Askew of Camden, AR; two sons, Ricky (Felisa) Tucker of Camden, AR and David (Laura) Heard of Camden, AR; three brothers, Walter L. (Saundra) Brown of Madison, WI, Otis (Floydene) Heard of Stephens, AR and Calvin Heard of Milwaukee, WI; four sisters, Queen Esther McBride of Stephens, AR, Brenda Heard of Stephens, AR, Archie Mae (Eddie) Smith of St. Louis, MO and Verda Bee Mixon of Dallas, TX; five precious grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a. m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at Bethel A. M. E. Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
