November 6, 1921 - March 31, 2014
Aileen Partee Silliman, 92, of Camden, died Monday morning, March 31, 2014. She was born November 06, 1921, in Stephens, AR. She graduated from Camden High School and attended Hendrix College. She married Walter Lee Silliman of Camden, in 1940. She and her husband owned and operated South Arkansas Music Company for 54 years and were also co-owners of Silliman Furniture Company. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church where she served as an honorary member of the Administrative Board, and was a charter member of the Al Rose Sunday School Class. Aileen was a Life Member of the Camden Junior Auxiliary and was a member of the New Century Club. She played in several bridge clubs, which was her favorite pastime.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Walter Lee Silliman; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. N. G. Partee; and two brothers, Edwards Partee and Bob Partee.
Survivors include son, Walter E. "Wally" Silliman and wife, Sarah of Camden; daughter, Peggy Fenwick and husband, Dick of Camden, and daughter, Virginia Walls and husband, Alan of Paragould. Grandchildren, Lynley Aileen Fenwick Summers of Camden, Stephen Silliman (Natasha) of Boston, MA, Caroline Laney Snodgrass (Patrick) of Fayetteville, Allison Silliman Sweeney (Brad) of Little Rock, Lindsey Laney Ward (Bret) of Little Rock, Tracy Fenwick Isley (Ben) of Plano, TX, Craig Walls of Paragould, Christina Walls of Memphis, TN, and Ashley Walls of Little Rock. Great-grandchildren, Jessica Summers of Conway, Christian Walls of Paragould, Sophie Snodgrass of Fayetteville, Alex Summers of Ward and Averie Summers of Sherwood.
In 2013, Aileen was honored by the Arkansas Chapter of the American Heart Association by being chosen as one of ten survivors highlighted during the annual "Go Red For Women" campaign.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 02, 2014 at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, April 03, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Buddy Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First United Methodist Church.
