Lela Lavern Gavin, 87, passed away May 26, 2014 at the Ouachita County Medical Center. Mrs. Gavin was a member of the Cullendale First Baptist Church. Mrs. Gavin was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Gavin; a son, Eddie Gavin; her parents, Rev. Jack Sr. and Maude Jordan; and a brother, Rev. Adrian Jordan.

Mrs. Gavin is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Gavin of Camden, AR; two grandchildren, Janet Bradfield and her husband, Michael of El Dorado, AR and John G. Littrell of Camden, AR; three grandchildren, Chase Skeens, Haley Skeens and Eutopia Bradfield, all of El Dorado, AR; five brothers, Bob Jordan and his wife, Pat of Memphis, TN, Alvin Jordan and his wife, Marie, Danny Ray Jordan and his wife, Glenda, Jack Jordan, Jr. and his wife, Jane and Rev. Gary Jordan and his wife, Frances; and two sisters, Jewel Hargis and Shelby Willliams, all of Monticello, AR.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Proctor Funeral Home with Clay Doss officiating followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Senior Care at Ouachita County Medical Center as well as the staff of Silver Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
