Wayne Ellis Moxley, 90, formerly of Spring Mills, WV, passed away Saturday, August 07, 2010, at Hilltop Assisted Living at Homewood in Williamsport, MD.
Born August 30, 1919, in Chugwater, WY, Mr. Moxley was the son of the late James and Hazel Moxley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Garner Moxley, and brother, Dean Moxley.
In 1937 he graduated from high school in Cheyenne, WY, and went to Los Angeles where he spent several years managing movie theaters. Wayne enlisted in World War II and after training in Texas, Colorado, and Georgia, was assigned to Squadron 347, 92nd Bomb Group and sent to England.
After the war he went to work for Western Electric in Los Angeles and Camden, AR, and later for GTE in Texarkana. He was an instructor in the company school from 1956-60 and later was in charge of maintenance in Arkansas, Louisiana and eastern Texas. He retired from GTE in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Talton Moxley of Williamsport, whom he married in 1987. Other survivors include stepson Robert Earl Garner of Camden, AR, stepson Brooks Talton, Jr. and wife Gina of Limestone, TN, stepson Hugh Talton and wife Marty of Hagerstown, MD, stepdaughter Melinda Miller and husband Pete of Clarksville, TN, and stepson David Talton of St. Petersburg, FL. Survivors also include 11 step grandchildren and 15 step great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moxley was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Martinsburg, WV.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 5, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, AR.
