Laveta Cooper Eubanks, 94, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation.

The daughter of Albert and Zellie (Welcher) Cooper, she was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Caglesville. She married the late L.D. Eubanks on Feb. 28, 1938. She retired from Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center after 22 years of service as a dietary supervisor. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God.

Laveta was a selfless person always putting others before her. She enjoyed cooking and continued to prepare the Thanksgiving meal until she was 89 years old. She also enjoyed spending precious time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, L.D. Eubanks; her parents; a son, Bobby Eubanks; two daughters, Shelby Cain and Mary Hubbard; and a sister, Zettie Head.

Survivors include her two sons, Jimmy Eubanks (Barbara) of Russellville and Jess Eubanks (Debbie) of Russellville; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Mote of Del City, Okla.; three brothers, Allen D. Cooper, Royce Cooper and Bobby Cooper; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Graveside service will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev. Robert O’Bryant will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
