Verdonna Marie Brewer Carr (Donna), 72, passed from this life Dec. 22, 2016, at her home in the Jethro community in Ozark.
She was born June 27, 1944, in Holdenville, Okla., to loving parents the Rev. Leo and Mary Bishop Brewer.
She was a loving homemaker to her family, member of Jethro Pentecostal Church, a Sunday school teacher and active member to her community. Verdonna was an accomplished artist, writer, and musician who also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Verona (Beth) Carr; a son, Richard Carr; three sisters, Imagene Dooley, Mildred Parrish and Leomah (Pinky) Parrish.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Carr; a son, Christopher Carr of Ozark; eight grandchildren, Nathan Carr, Adrien Carr, Sandra Carr, Catherine Carr, Luke Carr, Jacquelyn Isaacs, Benjamin Carr, Rebecca Carr; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark with Brother Lamar Joy and Brother Carl Newton officiating and burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers serving are John Carr, Chris Carr, Luke Carr, Benjamin Carr, Josh Isaacs and Elijah Carter.
