Mrs. Lucy Mae Irwin, 65, of Mount Holly, Route One, died at her home Monday morning following a long illness. She was born in Magnolia April 2, 1899, the daughter of David M. and Rachel Beene Smalling. Mrs. Irwin, a former resident of Smackover, had lived in Mount Holly for the last nine years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Smackover. Surviving are her husband, Willie H. Irwin; three daughters, Mrs. A. T. Colvert of Thornton, Mrs. T. E. Beene of Mount Holly and Mrs. Omer D. Carroum of Alexandria, La.; two brothers, Wade H. Smalling of El Dorado and John D. Smalling of Stephens; four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Pyle and Mrs. Alice White, both of Magnolia, Mrs. Viney Beevers of Mount Holly and Mrs. C. E. White of Norphlet; five grandsons and one great granddaughter. Funeral services have been announced for Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church of Smackover with the Rev. Ralph Mann and the Rev. Harold Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body taken to the Irwin home Monday at 5 p.m. (The El Dorado Times - February 22, 1965)
