Kathlyn Jeffery Lawson, 77, died peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018.

Kathlyn was born in Calico Rock, Arkansas, on March 12, 1941, to Samuel David and Ernestine Hanks Jeffery.

She attended school in Mount Olive and Calico Rock, Arkansas, before heading to the University of Arkansas graduating with a degree in human nutrition.

Kathlyn is proceeded in death by her father and mother, and her ex-husband, Dr. Larry Smithson.

Survivors include her spouse of 28 years, Jerry Lawson, Sparta, MO, and two children, Curtis Smithson, Hopkinton, MA, and Rebecca Smithson Littrell, Starkville, MS. She is also survived by her grandchildren Samuel Smithson, Chicago, IL, and William Smithson, Urbana, IL, and her siblings Carol Cooper, Melbourne, AR, Jeanine Faith, Mount Olive, AR, and David Jeffery, Rogers, AR.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mount Olive, AR.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Parkinson's Foundation.
