When Roy Silvester Floyd was born on February 1, 1912, in Searcy, Arkansas, his father, Frank, was 27 and his mother, Lillie, was 22. He married Estelle Marie Calhoun on December 23, 1936. They had one child during their marriage. He died in August 1994 in his hometown at the age of 82, and was buried there.
