Catherine Beatrice Ghent, 81, of Searcy, AR., passed away, Saturday, January 5, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Catherine was born March 24, 1931, to Howard and Ella Werley in Walker, Arkansas.
Catherine was a homemaker, she loved traveling and loved working, and most of all, loved her family. Raising her children was the most important accomplishment in her life. She was a Christian.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack Ghent, who never left her side throughout her illness. She is also survived by her sons, Jack Ghent, Jr. of Higginson and Steve Ghent (Tammy) of Searcy; granddaughters, Jaclyn Glick (Bob), Kristin Turner (Shawn), Jill Brito (Antonio) and Sarah Ghent; great-granddaughter, Emma Brito; great-grandsons, Jeshurun and Tony Brito, Austin, Carson and Logan Turner and Jackson Ghent; sisters, Laverne Bomerito, Palestine Wright and Lillian Gustin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Jr. Werley; sister, Christine Matthews and her only grandson, Nathan Ghent.
Services were held at the Oaklawn Mausoleum Chapel in Searcy. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.

Jack Dale Ghent born February 3, 1933 in Pangburn, AR passed away in his sleep suddenly at his home, Friday, November 13 in Searcy. Jack was the son of James Ervin and Willie Clorene Wood Ghent. Jack worked many years in St. Louis, lived in California and made his home in Arkansas. Jack was a Christian man who loved to read his bible. Jack married the love of his life, Catherine Beatrice Werley, July 29, 1950. They lived a full life together. Jack remained devoted to her after her passing and visited her daily at the cemetery. They have 2 sons, Jack Dale Ghent, Jr. of Higginson and James Stephen Ghent, of Searcy (Tammy Ghent; grandchildren, Jaclyn Glick (Bob), Nathan Ghent, Jill Brito (Antonio), Kristin Turner (Shawn), and Sarah Ghent and 7 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 65 years and grandson, Nathan Ghent.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob. Services will be 1:00 pm Monday at the Mausoleum in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy.
