Bettie Scarsdale went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 28, 2014. She was born on September 9, 1933 in McRae, Arkansas to the late Clyde R. and Lucille B. McEuen Corbitt. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, was an inspiration to all and will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church. She was a warranty clerk and cashier at Orr Nissan of Searcy, where she was loved by all and affectionately called Betty Boop or Miss Bettie by many of her co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Joe N. Scarsdale, Sr., her parents, and two sisters, Shirley Bradley and Billie Yarbrough.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son Dr. Joe Neel Scarsdale, Jr., of Richmond, Virginia, a brother L. C. Corbitt (Jewel) of Conway, two sisters, Lynda Bailey (John) and Carolyn Blakely (Edward) of Searcy, numerous nieces and nephews and ever more friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made American Heart Association or Park Avenue Baptist Church, Searcy.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 1-2 PM at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy. Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
