When Mollie Ann Thurman was born on December 26, 1898, in Arkansas, her father, John, was 29, and her mother, Emma, was 26. She married Osmer Stallcup (1886–1926)and they had four children together. She then married Elmer Allen Murphy on January 8, 1933, in Arkansas. She died on October 27, 1953, in Lepanto, Arkansas, at the age of 54.

When Elmer Allen Murphy was born on August 12, 1893, in Saltillo, Tennessee, his father, John, was 35 and his mother, Flora, was 17. He married Mollie Ann Thurman on January 8, 1933, in Arkansas. He died on July 9, 1989, in Lepanto, Arkansas, at the age of 95.
