Huie Fay Jean Wong, 80, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born Jan. 21, 1934, to Huie Luen Tai and Yan Wan Yau in Canton, China.

She was the co-owner and operator of Charles Louis Laundry and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a gardener known for her yard, long green beans, and figs.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Joe Wong; parents; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wong; son-in-law, Gene Yee; and brother-in-law, Jim Wong.

Survivors include her six children, Jo An Yee of Dallas, William Wong (Kit Ying) of El Dorado, Kenneth Wong (Cindy) of Palmdale, Calif., Mary Ann McMurry (Richard) of El Dorado, Eugene Wong (Yin Lai) of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Susan Wong of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren, Cyndi Gabrillo (Ed) of Dallas, Mike Yee (Cathy) of Dallas, Suzi Browning (Joe) of Columbus, Ohio, Jon Yee (Sara) of Dallas, George Wong of El Dorado, Allen Wong of San Diego, Julie Wong of El Dorado, Cathey Wong of San Diego, Kayla Wong of Palmdale, Albert and Johnny Wong of Brooklyn; seven great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Matthew, and Jessica Gabrillo of Dallas, Olivia and Weston Yee of Dallas and Jazmin Wong of El Dorado; sister, Huie Wah Wan (Szeto Chuk Kin) of Hong Kong; sister-in-law, Lin Wong of Dallas; nieces and nephews, Henry Wong (Alice) of Ruston, La., Emma Chew (Bryan) of Dallas, Mable Wong of Dallas, Chuck Wong (Christina) of Mililani, Hawaii; and great nieces and nephews, Robert Wong of Dallas, Christopher, Catherine, and Jonathan Chew of Dallas, Cayley and Cody Wong of Mililani.

Visitation was held from 5 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Chapel with Garland Willis officiating and the Rev. Brian Trostle assisting. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
