John Coleman Sampson, age 81, of Malvern passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. He was born July 18, 1935, in Malvern, the son Fred C. and May Gussie Davis Sampson. John served in the United States Marines. He was of the Assembly of God faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Coleman, May Gussie Davis Sampson and Frances Sampson; first wife, Carolyn Whitner Sampson; brother, Fred Sampson and sisters, May Causey, Ann Cullen and Vicky Deavers.
Survivors, wife, whom he married on January 30, 2016, Hessie Hughes Sampson; son, Lee Sampson; daughter, Cindy Sampson; step-children, Ricky Hughes, Mike Hughes, Belinda Knight, Lisa Holder and Charlotte Schweitzer; sisters, Patsy McMullen, Janette Miller, Laverne Phelps and Ruth Dial; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, October 29 at 10:00am at Regency Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service, with Reverend Keith Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Harp Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Tim Stanton, Robbie Stanton, Ray Sampson, Wayne Shaw, Chris Shaw and Cody Hughes.
