Mrs. Joy Elaine Mitchell, age 59, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Mitchell was born July 18, 1951, in Texarkana, Arkansas, and had lived all of her life in Texarkana. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Texarkana, Arkansas, where she taught Sunday School, and was an employee of Capital One Bank, formerly Texarkana National Bank.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Woody Dorsey of Texarkana, Arkansas, her parents, Oscar N. and Betty Brooks of Texarkana, Arkansas, one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Judy Brooks of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and two nieces, Heather Novascone of Dallas, Texas and Erin Brooks of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church, Arkansas, with Rev. Fred Calhoun officiating.
Burial will be at East Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
