Hazel Pearl Gonser Thomas was born in Woodward, OK on March 6, 1924. Hazel peacefully passed away in her sleep on December 20, 2016, surrounded by her family.
On Nov 25, 1948, Hazel married the love of her life, Mack Hall Thomas at Bethel Baptist Church. They remained happily wed for 42 years, until his death in 1991.Hazel leaves her two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Hermie Thomas and Mack and Twila Thomas. Grandchildren, Shawnna Wilburn and her husband Bradley, Jennifer Thomas, Jared Thomas and his wife Sara, Nikki Thomas, and Matthew Thomas and his wife Hannah, great-grandchildren, Reese Wilburn, Mack Thomas, and Barrett Thomas. Her sisters: Ruby McKinney; Merle Ely; Wanda Colorigh and her husband Jimmy, and Twyla Moore and her husband Larry.
Hazel is preceded in death by her daughter Romona and her husband Mack. Her father and mother: Jacob and Bessie Gonser. Her sisters and brother: Lois Davis, Phyllis Herron and JR Gonser.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Hazel was the ultimate example of biblical servitude, always freely giving to others before herself. She loved her husband, sons and family more than life itself. Her very kind heart and sweet spirit will be dearly missed.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Friday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel. Reverend Harold Williams will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at East Memorial Gardens.
