Marie Rankin 86,of Texarkana, Ark died Monday May 17,2004 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Rankin was born August 11,1917 in Leesburg, Texas. She was retired from Belk-Jones Co.,a private sitter and a Baptist. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Jesse Claud Rankin;two stepsons, Billy Rankin and J.W. Rankin; and one granddaughter-in-law, Cissy Akin Shoulders. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Helen and Bill Shoulders of New Boston, Texas;and Anne Payne of Palmetto, Fla; two stepdaughters, Geneva Gabe of Texarkana; and Doris Brewer of Benton, Ark; one stepson, Don Rankin of Benton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Juanice and Wayne Hadderton and Louise Sutton of Pittsburg, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Texarkana Funeral Home with Gerold Rankin officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
