Oma Juell Gass, 85, of Batesville passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Batesville. She was born May 28, 1921 in Oil Trough, Arkansas and was the daughter of Benjamin Harrison Freeman and Sally Katherine (Laxton) Freeman.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Ruddell Hill Baptist Church. Oma had a green thumb and loved to garden and can. She also loved to cook and made the best homemade biscuits. She loved to shop and she was very family oriented.

Oma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Cindy Gass of Greer, South Carolina; her daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Ted Jones of Batesville; three grandchildren, David Gass, Lori Williams and Valerie Gay; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Thomas Gass, Ashley Marie Williams, William Kyle Lawrence and one great-great-grandchild, William Hayden Lawrence. She is also survived by one brother, Ray Freeman of Mount Pleasant and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Norman Clayton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ted Jones, Charley Williams, Mark Williams, Rusty Gay, Terry Engles and Jason Engles. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Hardin, David Gass and Kevin Tucker.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at McMullin Cemetery in Pleasant Plains under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. (870) 793-4161.
