Mary Frances Ross Stevens was born
to Charlie and Georgia Tidd Ross at
Lockesburg, Arkansas, on August 29,
1927, and departed this life Monday,
April 26, 2004, after having attained
the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 28 days.
She was a Baptist, a retired nurses
aide, a former employee of Pilgrim's Pride,
and a homemaker.
She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Albert and Charlie Ross, Jr.; three sisters: Ethel Shortridge, Gertie Hennard, and Rubye Jean French; a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Rowlett Jordan, and her husband, Fred Harvey Stevens.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Freddie and Alice Stevens of Horatio; six daughters
and sons-in-law: Anna and Douglas McArthur of Jay, Okla.; Virginia Collins of Mt. Pleasant, Tx;
Elizabeth Rowlett of Dierks, AR; Fredia and Darren Lofland of Horatio; Bonnie and David Lee of Eagletown, Okla.; and Brenda and Kenneth Whiteman of
Haworth, OK; one adopted son and spouse, Jeremy
and Marlena Stevens of Horatio; two brothers: Tommy Ross of De Queen; and James Ross of Centrailia, WA;
four sisters: Bessie Sexton of Chino Valley, Arizona; Lillie Bell Livingston of Garland, Texas; Elsie Mandujano of De Queen; and Minnie Ross of Cove, Ar; 31 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances Stevens will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Launius and Rev. J. L. Walker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Horatio Cemetery,
Horatio, Arkansas.
