Mrs. Maggie Elizabeth Petet, 59, wife of L.A. Petet died November 8, 1941, at 10:30 a.m. at her home in the Lone Oak community after a six weeks illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lockesburg Baptist church with the Rev. Stanley Jordan officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Lockesburg under the direction of Wilderson Funeral Home.
The Auxiliary of the De Queen Spanish War Veterans Post, of which she was past president, conducted a services at the cemetery.
Mrs. Petet was born October 25, 1882, in Missouri, and was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, W.M. Block, Clovis, N.M.; L.L. Block, Roosevelt, Okla., and Henry Petet, De Queen; two daughters, Mrs. W.F. Athey, Clovis, N.M., and Mrs. A.C. Staggs, DeQuee; one sister, Mrs. Cora Matoy, Guthrie Okla.; two brothers. Wallace Hesler, Kansas City, Mo., and Joe Hesler, Kiowa, Kan.; eighteen grandchildren.
