February 23, 1889 - September 16, 1973

James Evans, 84, of Magnolia died Monday at Foot Roots Veteran's Hospital at North Little Rock. He was a veteran of World War I. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Proctor's Chapel, with burial in Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Evans is survived by two sons, Jimmy Evans of Magnolia, and Hugh Evans of Dallas, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Wilson Green of Haynesville, La.; three brothers, Homer Evans and Sam Evans both of Hampton, and Ed Evans of Beebe; five sisters, Miss Cattie Evans, Mrs. Emma Bowen, and Mrs. Sallie Brown, all of Hampton, Mrs. Blanche Cox, and Mrs. Leslie Chambliss, both of Bearden; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
