Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel for John Triggs Parks, 90, of 406 Walnut St., a retired oilman and farmer who died Saturday in a Texarkana nursing home. The Rev. James T. Garrett will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Earnest Autrey, Patrick N. Reeves, A.T. Farr, Jr., Arch Smith, Charles Seedle and Earl Higginbotham. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Sanderson, Harve Thomas, Harold Beck, Shearly Crank, Boyce B. Lanier Sr., Leroy Autrey, James G. Collins, A.P. Cox, E.A. Morris, Sam Ball Jr., Stewart Hunt, Dallas Stone, Henry H. Briley, Henry Hurst, George Christman, Lynn Farr, Paul R. Robinson, and other friends of the family.

Mrs. Missie C. Parks, 85, of 406 Walnut Street, Texarkana, Ark., died at 10:50 a.m. in a local nursing home. Born March 15, 1881, in Oklahoma, she had lived in Texarkana for the past 35 years, having moved from Amarillo, Texas. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Ark. Survivors include her husband, John T. Parks, a granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Helen Higginbotham, and a great-grandson, John Parks Higginbotham, all of Texarkana; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Whitney of Oklahoma City, Okla. The family will be at 104 Georgian Terrace. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Hillis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
