Lovelady
WALNUT RIDGE -- Charles R. Lovelady, 71, of Walnut Ridge died Thursday, Sept. 26, at St. Bernard's Medical Center at Jonesboro.
Born in the Fender community, he was retired from General Motors and lived in Michigan before moving to Walnut Ridge 17 years ago. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Walnut Ridge.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Counts Lovelady of the home; two daughters, Susan Logan of Columbus, Ga., and Janet Stuart of Walnut Ridge; one son, John Lovelady of South Lyon, Mich.; three sisters, Jean Donley of Swartz Creek, Mich., Louise Sisco of Binghamton, N.Y., and Laveta Whitmire of Springfield, Mo.; three brothers, Bill Lovelady and Bob Lovelady, both of Walnut Ridge, and Joe Lovelady of Smithville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Juanita Lovelady.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Smithville Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Newberry officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Logan, Stuart Logan, Sam Logan, Mark Stuart, Zac Stuart and John Lovelady.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Glenna Sue Lovelady, 90, of Walnut Ridge, passed away November 23, 2019 in the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
Born August 12, 1929 in the Strangers Home Community near Alicia; Daughter of the late, Leonard and Lois Foley Counts. She was united in marriage to the late Charles Richard Lovelady.
She worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company for many years which she thoroughly enjoyed and had many stories; she also was a lunchroom lady, caregiver and a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Walnut Ridge.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan and her husband Harry Logan of Columbus, Georgia; a son, John and his wife Dana Lovelady of Charleston, South Carolina; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A private service will be held later by the family with internment in the Smithville Cemetery.
