MILLIGAN, Franklin Pierce - The funeral services for Franklin Pierce Milligan, 80 years old, who died at his home at Maysville, Ark. on New Year's morning after a brief illness, were conducted Monday afternoon. A short service was held at the home and another at the Presbyterian Church with the pastor, the Reverend Canady, in charge. Mr. Milligan leaves his aged wife, Sophronia Fields Milligan, a niece, Mrs. T.J. Maxwell of Bartlesville, Okla., formerly of Gentry, Ark., three nephews, Millard and Austin Smith of St. Louis, Mo. and David C. Smith of Tucson, Arizona and a host of friends to mourn his passing. Interment was in the Fields family cemetery.

Franklin Pierce Milligan of Maysville, son of Eliza and Mahala Milligan, was born in 1852 at Batesville, Arkansas and died here last week. He was one of a family of nine children and the going of Brother Milligan marks the passing of the entire family. On September 15, 1891 he was united in marriage to Sophronie Fields. He united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1901. He stood for everything that was high and good in Christian citizenship. He leaves his wife, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends to mourn his passing. Burial was made in the family cemetery west of the house.
