Elbert Robinson Little the son of Owen Obadiah Little and Mae (Hardin) Little. Elbert Robinson Little was predeceased by two (2) wives, Hazel Little and Emma Jean (Diggs) Gleghorn Little. Elbert Robinson Little married Marilyn Elsie Piehl Little later in life. Emma Jean (Diggs) Gleghorn Little daughter of Raymond Diggs and Alice Julia (Blackwell) Diggs.

Emma Jean Gleghorn Little, 86 of Jonesboro, passed away June 15, 2013 in NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

She was born in Charleston, MO; on October 31, 1926 daughter of Ray and Alice Diggs. She lived in Hoxie before moving to Jonesboro in 1962 where she has lived for fifty years.

She was retired from South Western Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Charles Chapter 410 Order of Eastern Star, “Hoxie” Where she was Past Worthy Matron. She was a past member of the Hoxie Hooking Club. She had worked at the Fashion Nook Dress Shop and a volunteer at St. Bernard’s Auxiliary for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Alice Diggs; her first husband, Douglas Gleghorn of Jonesboro; son, Douglas Gleghorn; daughter, Judy Fischer; brother, Edward Diggs; and a sister, Margaret Sharp.

Survivors include her husband Elbert Little of Jonesboro; one daughter, Pat Bailey of Conway; one brother, La Vaughn Diggs of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Helen Gullett of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; step-sons of Ron “Barbara” Little of Sammamish, Washington; Tony Little of Charlotte, NC; David “Dianna” Little of Wesley Chapel, FL, Steve “Jo Ann” Little of Schaumburg, IL; and many other relatives and friends.

Elbert Robinson Little, 95 of Bono, died November 2, 2019.

Born September 9, 1924 in Lauratown, AR; son of the late, Obe and Mae Harden Little. Elbert graduated Hoxie High School and enlisted into the United States Air Force. He was an Air crew member in World War II on the Flying Fortress. He served in the 8th Air Force in England and the 15th Air Force in Italy; he proudly flew 35 Combat missions as a Staff Sergeant.

Upon returning to the states Elbert attended the Indiana University for two years and then graduated from Worsham Mortuary College; he then achieved an Advanced degree in Restorative Art at the E.C. Johnson of Art & Cosmetology; He was associated for twenty years with the Rhenberg Funeral Home in La Grange, Illinois. For over twenty-two years he was the assistant to President of Hallowell & James Funeral Homes, in Country Side, La Grange, Western Springs and Downers Grove, Illinois until his retirement in December of 1989. He was an Onvestery for six years and treasurer two years at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in La Grange, IL. Member of La Grange Lodge 770 A.F. & A.M., Ashler Lodge # 610 A.F. & A.M. of London, Ontario. Former member Medinah Temple, West Suburban Shrine Club, Robert R. Coulter Post 1941 American Legion. Past President of the La Grange Rotary Club. And a member of several Funeral Director Clubs and Associations.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, David; two brothers, Gene and Bernard; his sister, Maxie Hutsell and an infant sister; his two previous wives, Hazel and Emma Jean Little.

He was a great man with a big heart, he could tell some amazing stories about his life.

Survivors include his present wife, Jean Lee; three sons, Ron (Barbara) of Seattle, Washington, Tony of Charlotte, North Carolina and Steve of Schaumberg, Illinois; three step-children, Michael, Karen and Teresa; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 10 A.M. in the Bryan Funeral Home with Bro. Don Martin officiating. Pallbearers will be his family and friends. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 P.M. till 7 P.M.

In Lieu of flowers memorials to Shriners Hospital for Children.
