March 5, 1901 - August 28, 1965
Hamp Smead Tuberville, 64, a construction worker of Salinas, Calif., died in Salinas Saturday after a short illness. Mr. Tuberville was born inf Chidester, Mar. 5, 1901, the son of Joseph and Ella Ridgell Tuberville. He had been a resident of California for the last 10 years. He was a member of the Little Missouri Methodist Church near Chidester. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucille Garrett Tuberville; a son, Danny Tuberville of Salinas; a daughter, Miss Peggy Tuberville of Salinas; a stepson, Lawrence Garrett, also of Salinas; five brothers, Leonard Tuberville and Lonnie Tuberville, both of Chidester, Danny Tuberville of Camden, Stanley Tuberville of Hawaii and Tillman Tuberville of Horatio; and two sisters, Mrs. Claude Thornton of Fordyce and Mrs. Ernest Maroney of El Dorado. He leaves also 20 nieces and nephews. Funeral services have been announced for Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Proctor Mortuary in Camden with burial in Little Missouri Cemetery by Rumph Mortuary. The body will arrive in El Dorado early Friday. (The El Dorado Times - September 1, 1965)
