When Albert Elmore Starr was born on May 17, 1886, in Morrilton, Arkansas, his father, Andrew, was 26 and his mother, Mary, was 16. He married Emma Mary Mosley on January 17, 1909, in Conway, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. He was 45 years old and living in Benedict, Arkansas, when he registered for the World War I draft.
