Johnny Thomas Vines, 80, of Magnolia passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
He was born on December 22, 1937 in Bussey to the late Leonard Vines and Ruth Alice (Williams) Vines Mitchell.
Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963 as a specialist fifth class financial clerk. He was a very active member and deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church and retired as a maintenance supervisor for Unit Structures LLC.


He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Toni Vines Tatom.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ameta Lann Vines, whom he married on July 24, 1987; sister, Marzette Johnston; son-in-law, Tommy Tatom; grandchildren, Emilee Tatom, Lynn and Kyle Carpenter and their daughter Aria Carpenter, Ashley Tatom and Waylon Turnage; mother-in-law, Bobbie Ruth Lann, all of Magnolia; brother-in-law, Randy and Cindy Lann and their children, Julia Lann of Vilonia and Brad Lann and wife Abby and their son Levi of Greenbrier; two nieces, Saundra and Gary Morgan, and Renita Atkinson, all of Magnolia; three great nephews, Chris and Laura Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas, Jeremy and Rachel Morgan and their son Grayson Morgan of Anna, Texas, Matt and Mallory Atkinson and their daughter Layla Atkinson of Magnolia; and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Coulter officiating.
