Emma Jean Brady Long, 78, of Bradford passed away at home Saturday, August 17, 2019. She was born May 18, 1941 in Beryl, Arkansas to Gertrude Lewellyn Lavender Brady and Jesse Brady. Her memory will be cherished by those she leaves behind, including her sister, Etta Ward of Conway; her children, Wayne Long and his wife Jan of Bradford, and Sandy Dutton and her husband Jeff of Jonesboro. She will forever be loved by her five grandchildren, Justin Long of Conway, Jared Long of Cabot, Jackson Long of Oklahoma, and Kaitlyn Dutton and Patrick Dutton of Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Long; three brothers, Bill Lavender, Claude Brady, and John Brady; and two sisters, Amie Daves and Pearl Sowell.
Emma happily referred to herself as a “homebody.” Her favorite kind of evening would center around a new Hallmark movie, and some cookies and milk, but she would gladly give those up when she had an opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She loved birthdays and holidays, and she always made sure they didn’t go by without heaping servings and cinnamon cakes. We will all remember her best for her sweet smile, her sense of humor, and the love she showed for us all the days of her life.
A graveside service will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at Mayflower Cemetery in Mayflower, Arkansas.
