Victor Roland Forte, Sr., 87, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Helena. Mr. Forte was born December 11, 1925 at Helena to the late C.S. Forte and the late Rosina Presti Forte. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mr. Forte was captain of the Helena Volunteer Fire Department for many years and worked as a mechanic for West Hornor Motor Company and Hornor Morris Transportation.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mearl Jackson Forte; a son, Victor Forte, Jr. (Mildred) of Atoka, Tennessee; two daughters, Karen Davidson (Michael) of Helena and Kacky Leslie (Mark) of Waldof, Maryland; six grandchildren, Roland Davidson, Eric Leslie (Celeste), Jason Forte (Kristina), Jonathan Forte (Natalie), Elizabeth Farris (Adam) and Laura Leslie; eight great-grandchildren, Gianna Forte, Emma Forte, Ava Forte, Mia Forte, Jackson Forte, Leo Forte, Christopher Leslie and Sophia Leslie and a brother-in-law, Sonny Payne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Josephine Payne and Marie Foster; and a brother, J.R. Forte.

Services for Victor Forte, Sr. will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation and rosary services will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Helena.

Pallbearers are Roland Davidson, Eric Leslie, Jason Forte, Jonathan Forte and Adam Farris. Honorary pallbearers are Leroy Davis, Charles Roscopf, Sonny Payne, Brian Miller and Leon Rinke.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund.

Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

Mearl Jackson Forte, age 89, of Helena, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in Helena. Mrs. Forte was born December 3, 1928 in Blackton, Arkansas to the late Albert and Etta (Hastings) Jackson. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena, where she also worked until she retired. Mrs. Forte also served as a member of St. Mary's Alter Society and St. Ann's Circle.
She is survived by a son, Victor Forte, Jr. (Mildred) of Atoka, Tennessee; two daughters, Karen Davidson (Mike) of Helena and Kathryn ''Kacky'' Leslie (Mark) of Hot Springs Village; six grandchildren, Roland Davidson, Elizabeth Farris, Eric Leslie, Jason Forte, Jonathan Forte and Laura Burch; twelve great-grandchildren, Gianna, Ava, Mia, Leo, Carina, Elisa, Emma, Jackson, Graham, Christopher, Sophia and Ryker; and many friends.
Mrs. Forte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Victor Forte, Sr.; and one brother, Lelburn ''Buddy'' Jackson.
A service for Mearl Forte will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena. Rosary service will be Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Helena.
