When John Arthur Childress was born on July 29, 1880, in Conway, Arkansas, his father, Alfred, was 27. He had four sons and one daughter with Dolly E Adkins. He died in 1955 in Arkansas at the age of 74, and was buried in Mayflower, Arkansas.
