Imogene Rainwater, 99 of Pocahontas passed away June 25, 2019 at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Born July 12, 1919 in Evening Star; daughter of the late Charles Edward and Martha Miranda Victoria Clark Stevens. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Rainwater on April 16, 1938. Imogene was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
She will always be remembered for her generous heart, love of extended family, faith, and friends. She was a strong Church of Christ member and attended the Evening Star Church. Imogene was fond of so many things; but her family always came first for her. She always had time for her grandchildren and would feed them home cooked meals when they came to visit. Her family will miss the sound of her voice, wisdom of her advice, stories of her life she would tell, and just being in her loving presence.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded by her husband, Lawrence; four sons, Larry, Kenneth, Kevin, and Keith; one granddaughter, Kelly Storms; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her five daughters, Charlene Johnson of Bethalto, IL, Linda (James) Stark of Fenton, MO, Karen Rainwater of Pocahontas, Shirley Dickerson of Bradford, and Dianne Neill of Peach Orchard; one son, Reggie Rainwater of O’Kean; twenty three grandchildren; forty two great grandchildren; and twenty one great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Venita Amick of Phoenix, AZ, Arzella Svaglic of St. Clair, MO, and Vivian Davis of Paragould; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Phillip Rainwater officiating. Pallbearers will be Matthew Nation, Joseph Nation, Shane Neill, Dakota Rainwater, Corey Neill, and Derek Rainwater. Interment will follow in the Green County Memorial Gardens in Paragould.
Visitation will be from 11 A.M. till the time of service.
