John Monroe Ballard was born on February 4, 1917, in Oklahoma. He married Bessie Irene Kirchoff in 1947 in USA. He died on December 12, 1978, in Bloomington, Illinois, at the age of 61.

Mrs. Irene K. Ballard, 81 of Mayflower, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 in Conway. Mrs. Ballard was born September 24, 1924 in Gillett, AR to the late Green Berry and Mattie Reesa (Perritt) Kirchoff.
Mrs. Ballard was a member of Troutman Chapel in Mayflower. She was retired from Eureka Williams Vacuum.
Mrs. Ballard is preceded in death by her husband John Monroe Ballard, sons John Monroe Ballard, Jr. and Marvin Dale Ballard, daughter Jewel Alene Tibbs, grandson Russell Monroe Martin and granddaughter Caileigh Irene Ballard. She is survived by son Raymond Calvin Martin of East Peoria, Illinois, daughter Norma Sue Cotton of Mayflower, 7 grandchildren: Lisa Irene Writtenhouse of Conway, Teresa Renae Writtenhouse of Mayflower, Amanda Rae Martin of Washington, IL, Nicholas David Ballard of Bloomington, IL, Julia Alene Davis of Conway, John Richard Ballard of Lexington, IL, and Emileigh Renae Ballard of Heyworth, IL, 7 great- grandchildren: John Adam Hoffman of Mayflower, Steven Wayne Writtenhouse of Conway, Jeffrey Calvin Writtenhouse of Conway, Joshua Aaron Malcome of Conway, Sierra Lynn Ballard of Bloomington, IL, Hailee Rae Merritt of Bloomington, IL, Marti Nicole Ballard of Bloomington, IL, and one great-great granddaughter: Halen Dream Ballinger of Conway.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 9 at Troutman Chapel in Mayflower with Rev. Gary Hammer officiating. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Martin, Adam Hoffman, Josh Malcome, Jeffrey Writtenhouse, Nick Ballard, and Mike Hopple. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Dr., Conway, AR.
