When Arvil Bryan Smith was born on March 24, 1903, in Arkansas, his father, John, was 26 and his mother, Sarah, was 22. He married Alma E Crump on February 11, 1923, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on February 26, 1956, at the age of 52, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
