Reta Rebeckah Utley Hibler passed away peacefully at her home in Granbury on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 2013, at the age of 92. Born July, 14, 1921 her husband, E.P., was an officer in the United States Air Force. They lived and made friends in many countries across the globe. Mrs. Hibler continued correspondence with many of those friends over the years.
Mrs. Hibler was preceded in death by her husband E.P. Hibler, her son David Hibler, her sisters and brother.
She is survived by her granddaughter Kimberly, grandson David/Shana and great-grandson Braden. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, quick wit and keen sense of humor. She was a remarkable, avid bridge player and a wonderful organist. She had a generous spirit and established several scholarships and supported many charitable foundations. As a final act of generosity, she donated her body to science.
Memorial service: 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 9 in the white chapel at Acton United Methodist Church. Dedication of her remains will be at a later date at the Alma City Cemetery in Arkansas.
