ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Dessie Mae Huffman White-Butler, 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home in St. Charles, Mo., on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
She was born Sept. 15, 1939, at Beech Grove, the daughter of the late Melvin and Alma Fears Huffman. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald L. White.
Dessie loved spending time with her family, working on her flower garden and watching the birds. She helped her family, neighbors and friends any time there was a need, and she was loved by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Homer G. Butler of St. Charles; children and their spouses, Michael and Diana White and their daughters, Katie and Natalie, all of St. Peters, Mo., and Michele and Steve Dion and their daughters, Kristen and Brooke, all of St. Charles; siblings and their spouses, Bonnie and Carl Cathy of Scottsville, Ky., Geraldine Huffman of St. Peters, Donald and Sue Huffman of Walcott and Sue Liles of Mountain Home; many precious nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Heath Colonial Chapel with Eric Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
