When William James Meggs was born on November 20, 1880, in North Carolina, his father, James, was 58 and his mother, Sarah, was 22. He married Mary Etta Glover on February 15, 1899, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas. They had six children in 17 years. He died in 1938 in Faulkner Township, Arkansas, at the age of 58.
